Sportsmen sell gold medals for charity

Twenty five well-known Polish sportsmen decided to organise a charity event aimed at helping children from the poorest areas of our country. The project was created by Martin Thompson who had come up with the idea after visiting his nephews school in rural part of England. He noticed that a lot of children had an enormous sport potential but they were held back by the lack of money. Thats why he decided to set up a charity foundation aimed at helping these young athletes. He also asked his friends sportsmen to sell gold medals and donate collected money to his organisation. They put the medals up for an internet auction hoping a lot of potential buyers would have an opportunity to take part and make an offer. The organisers hope that they will not only manage to sell gold medals for a really good price but also raise a significant amount of money during a series of charity sport events that will take place around the country. Thompson explained that they want to allocate the money to local sports clubs, buy necessary equipment and clothes for the poorest athletes. The action aims at developing young sport talents as well as helping giving children opportunities to come out of their appalling surrounding.
